My iPhone!

Love it....

This is coming from a girl who does not own a single Apple product. I'm never a fan of apple and i always find iTunes a tad troublesome. I'm a strictly drag-and-put-file kind of person. What's with all the syncing? And further more you can only sync with one computer. After owning the iPhone for more than a month, i say it is a small price to pay for such a wonderful phone.

The main reasons why i love it (there are other frills which i'm too lazy to include)
1) User-friendly

After you get pass the hacking and jailbreaking (even this can be done within 10 mins), the rest is a breeze. From messaging to wifi, everything is just a tap away. This is especially good for I.T. not-so-savy people like me. hehe

2) Touch screen interface

You navigate by sliding your finger and tapping to enter.

3) Everything under the sun can be added

Just to name a few, you can have youtube, msn, icq (are there people still using icq?), weather, stocks, convertor, maps & location (it can pinpoint where your location is and the distance & time needed to travel to the another location), games (tons of it), wall papers and themes, even screen shots & etc...

4) iPod

You can listen to music, watch videos and access to iTunes. Sound & video quality is good too!

5) Price

It is relatively inexpensive. 399USD for 8G, 499 USD for 16G (excluding taxes). I've got mine (8G) for S$597.

However things i don't like about it are

1) Contacts

I have a hard time adding contacts. I've installed iSim but it doesn't work (it is supposed to transfer all your contacts from the sim card into the phone, but me being so suay, can't seem to get it work). Once you have the contacts in, you need to key in 2 phone numbers, with +65 and without (this is so that it can read the caller and the sender for messages.)

2) Where to repair?

I have no idea where to send this phone to if it spoils.

3) Typing

I must put in full concentration when i type. As it is touch screen, i often tab on the neighbouring letters. Annoying! I guess you need time to get use to it.

I've jus received my coach items from Esther's husband, who has kindly agreed to help the few of us get bags & stuff from Coach USA. I'm really thankful as the bag i wanted wasn't available in Macy (where he got most of the items) and he went all the way to the Coach store to get it. Yay!

Bangkok trip from Apr 4 - Apr 7

I've just visited the Land of Thousand Smiles with my other 2 girlfriends. The weather there was pretty hot, but we are thankful that it didn't rain during our 4 days there. Below is my itinerary, it is pretty lengthy... and some photos...

Day 1:

Took the morning Air Asia flight departing at 10.55am Spore time and arriving 12.15pm Bkk time. From the airport we took a cab to our hotel, Diamond City Hotel. We paid 60 bath for toll and 300 baht for the metered fare.

The first impression of the hotel was that it is small and situated in those ulu lanes and far from the sky train. Lobby was miserable and half was it was taken up by tables and chairs. Apparently as we discovered later, it was the breakfast area. There isn't any restaurant in that hotel. The room was nice, with 2 super single beds and 1 makeshift bed. The bathroom was pretty old and we saw a small cockroach running around. Gross! However given the price we paid, we can't complain much. The nicest part of the room was the balcony. It has a big glass table and 2 arm chairs. On the ceiling they put up hanging lights, kinda like chandeliers but simpler.

We went to MBK for dinner and some shopping. Shopping at MBK, to be honest, is pretty boring. The prices quite are generally higher than places like Platinum, CTC and even those roadside stalls. The varieties for clothes are very limited and the bags auntieish. However we enjoyed shopping at Bonaza (not sure if it is this name but it is linked from MBK at 2nd floor near watsons and boots.)

Day 2:

Breakfast at the hotel was delicious! The variety though limited was mouth-watering. The chicken porridge was really nice, a total comfort food.. Although abit watery, i suppose it was due to the rising cost of rice. Anyway we started off to CTC early, wanting to beat the crowd but most of the shops weren't open! We got lost half way and keep wandering back to the same place. It was like a horror movie where no matter where we go, how hard we try, we keep getting back to the same place and seeing the same lady! Our savior arrive when we were close to giving up. We saw a stand giving free maps! Oh how happy we were!

After showering and resting at the hotel, we went to Suan Luan (Lumpini night market). It was rumored to be close on April this year. Lots of shops were closed so the rumor might be true. We went straight for the root reflexology. The boss being a teochew and us being teochews.... gave us additional shoulder and neck massage. What bliss!

Day 3:

After breakfast we went to Platinum mall. It was a good place to shop, we should have gone there on day 1. We were left with limited funds so we shopped for 2 levels and left for Isetan where we can sign cards. Whahaha.. The lingerie was cheap.. Miss Triumph lingerie was sold at a fraction of spore's price. Further more there was a 15% discount for tourist. Hehe feels good to be tourist.

In the evening we went back to Bonaza for manicures (250 baht with nail art) and pedicures (300 baht with nail art). Being really broke, we had our dinner at the roadside stalls near our hotel. We had chicken soup noodles (30 baht per bowl), fried chicken wings (5 baht each). bbq chicken wings and pork (5 baht each). All really delicious!

Day 4:

Packing luggage was a nightmare for us. Airasia baggage limit is only 15kg and i brought a humongous luggage which when filled to the brim, can weigh up to 27kg. I'm not gonna pay for all that excess baggage. There wasn't any weighing machine in the room so i have no gauge of what the weight is like. It felt quite heavy. So i hand carry all the heavy items and put all the light ones like pork floss inside. To my surprise, immediately followed by annoyance.. my luggage only weighs 12.4kg. WTH... I could have put in more stuff inside instead of carrying it around until my shoulders want to break! All in all it was a good trip. I had so much fun!

All our photos are taken by my friend Jaz, the only one who brought a camera along, now waiting for her to send me the photos. We didn't take much though cos we were all hot and sweaty... Utterly unglam... Haha.. Meanwhile i'm gonna put some some photos of my loots from Bkk aka shopping paradise.

My first post!

How exciting! Having seen lots of blogs, i've been thinking about what my blog should be like. What type of things i should write about so that it can be interesting & reader friendly (if in the first place there is anyone reading my blog). However I don't know any blog jargons, if there are any.. There might be lots of grammatical & spelling errors... And i won't be posting any revealing photos (Sorry to disappoint you Karen... haha).

To sum it up, i have no idea what i'm talkin about.. That' s me..
